Grace and peace be multiplied unto you, from our great God and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.

On Wednesday, August 3rd, 2022 through Friday, August 5th, 2022, we will be engaging in our three days of prayer and fasting. Our goal is to be in fasting each day from 6:00am-6:00pm.

Our theme for August is “Prepare to Meet the Lord”. The pertinent scripture reference is Romans 13:12 – 14 “The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof”.

It is imperative that every born-again believer live their life on purpose and ensure that they are walking in accordance to the will of God. These are certainly not the times for us to live carelessly. The Apostle Paul reminds us in 1 Thessalonians 5: 1-2 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night”. There is a cliché that states “even the blind man can see that the Lord’s return is near”. The signs of the times are all around us. There are so many forces that are against the body of Christ, trying to prevent us from living godly and sober lives. The enemy would want us to believe that it is only fornication, adultery, lying and gossiping that will prevent us from

making it into the Kingdom. However, he fails to tell us that when we spend little time in God’s presence, it will weaken us and cause our oil to run out.

More and more, it has become a struggle to pray, fast and read the word of God. However, we must discipline ourselves and ensure that we are consistently reading the word of God and communing with Him daily. These three ingredients are vital to our spiritual survival. The only way for us to make it in these last and closing days is to spend time in His presence. The Bible indicated that it is in the presence of the Lord that there is fullness of Joy. The enemy of our soul’s job is to deplete our joy thus, causing us to have little to no strength. So, as we begin this season of consecration let us ensure that we don’t just abstain from food only, but that we carve out time to pray and study the word of God. It is important that we spent the necessary time with the Lord and make it meaningful. We need to store up our prayers so that in difficult times of heaviness, distress, or sickness, we can go to our spiritual bank make necessary withdrawals. We are told in Revelation 3:2 “Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready die: for I have not found your works perfect before God”. We certainly don’t want that to be said of God to us. So, let us walk in the spirit that we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. It is important for us to do a thorough introspection daily, by looking into the mirror of the word of God. It makes no sense to have sacrificed all these years and hear depart from me I have never knew you! The Bible instructs us in Romans 8:18 “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us”. Saints, it will be worth it all when we see Jesus, so endure to the end and your crown will be sure!
