Grace and peace be multiplied unto you, from our great God and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.

From Wednesday, December 1st to Friday, December 3rd, we will have our final congregational Fast for 2021. Our theme is “That I May Know Him” which is taken from Philippians 3:10.
The book of Philippians is one of the Apostles Paul’s final letters he wrote before he was murdered. At this point in Paul’s ministry, he had preached to multitudes and won many souls to Christ, healed the sick, raised the dead, performed many miracles in the name of Jesus and received many great revelations from God. Yet Paul still desired to go deeper in Christ. In chapter 3:7-14 he states “But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” After all that he has experienced in Christ, Paul still desires to learn more of Him. To obtain a greater knowledge of who Jesus is, gain a deeper understanding of His Word, experience new depths of His love, see deeper realms of the Spirit, attain a closer relationship with the Lord and to be more deeply acquainted with His suffering.

Therefore, as Christians today, we should never stop striving to achieve deeper depths & new heights in God. Roman 11:33-34 says “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭2:9-10‬ ‭states “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.”

We can never fully know or understand God. He is so vast that he has no end. His power is limitless and His love for us is everlasting. Let’s continue to go deeper in Him. Let’s keep pressing toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God. Let’s keep seeking Him with fasting & prayer and learning more of Him through diligent study of His Word, and we will experience the deep things of God. ‬‬‬‬‬‬
Psalm 107: 23-24 states that “They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters; These see the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep.” ‭Additionally, James 4:8 states that we should “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.” ‭Finally, James 1:5 states that “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”

‭‭God desires to be closely connected to us. He desires to reveal Himself to us. He wants us to know Him, so let’s take this divine opportunity to dive deep in Him.‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

So, as we embark upon these three days of fasting and prayers let us pray daily with some of these prayer points in mind.
