Grace and peace be multiplied unto you, from our great God and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
We are halfway into our 16 days of Fasting and Prayer which commenced on January 5th, 2022. Our theme is “Make Him Known” derived from the verse in Ezekiel 38:23 where the Lord says, “Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be Known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the Lord.”
On Wednesday, January 19th - 21st and on Sunday, January 23rd we will be engaged in week three of this special time and prayer and fasting. Our Focus for this week is “Evangelizing Our Community.” “For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth” - Acts 13:47.
We are living in a world which is full of darkness and despair, but we have been called to be a light in this dark world. It is of great importance that we make known to those who are void of the light and hope, Jesus Christ! We are told in John 8:12, “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
This past year has been overwhelming mentally, physical, and emotionally for the entire world. It has been one of uncertainty and hopelessness. But we as believers have what this world is in desperate need of. Thus, it is important that we make Him Known. In Mark 16:15 we see, “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Oftentimes it appears that people want to be left alone and maintain their privacy. However, most individuals need and desire human contact to bring a certain element of hope. The human contact that we can offer as believers will provide hope beyond human comprehension. We are told in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” The world needs to know that Jesus’ thoughts towards them will bring forth peace and give them an expected end if they surrender their lives to Him.
As Christian we can provide reassurance to those who are especially facing challenging circumstances. We can pray for the unsaved, share the word of God with them and share our testimony of God amazing grace. It is also important to be an ear and shoulder for them to lean on during the difficult seasons of their lives.
The love that Jesus provides is still available to those who are willing to accept it and His efficacious blood is still flowing. So let us go and win our world for Jesus, with the Gospel.
