Grace and peace be multiplied unto you, from our great God and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
On Wednesday July 6 through Friday July 8, 2022, we will be engaging in our three days of prayer and fasting. Our goal is to be in fasting each day from 6:00AM-6:00PM. Our Theme is “Strive to Enter Into the Kingdom” (Luke 13:24). The NLT translates this as “Work hard to enter the narrow door to God’s Kingdom”. We must take heed and understand that in order to making it into Heaven, it’s going to take hard work.
Some Christians have a misconception that once saved, always saved; Or when we have our born-again experience, we can ease our way into Heaven. However, living holy in these last days & perilous times takes hard work. In Ephesians 6:11-13, we are admonished to “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”
In Matthew 10:16-25, Jesus outlines all the trials and adversity that we will face as Christians. In 2 Corinthians 11:23-28, the Apostle Paul describes much of the trouble and challenges he faced as he strove to do the work of The Kingdom. However, Jesus says in Matthew 5:10-12, “Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for their's is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.” In all that we go through whether in the harvest field or while serving our brethren in the ministry, it is going to take great effort, and sacrifice to make it into the Kingdom. Jesus said in Luke 14:26-27 “If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.” We must count the cost of living for Christ, but also remember that it is not His desire that any man be lost. So, let’s pray that God gives us the strength & tenacity to do His Will and live the holy life He called us to live, so we can spend eternity with Him in Heaven.
