On Wednesday June 1 through Friday June 3, 2022, we will be engaging in our three days of prayer and fasting.  Our goal is to be in fasting each day from 6:00AM-6:00PM.

The Theme will be “I Have Come that you Might have Life” The pertinent scripture reference is John 10:10 “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly”.

Jesus’ purpose is contrasted with that of the thief, which we know to be the devil.  He came that we might have life more abundantly. However, the devil has three intended purposes which is to steal, kill and destroy. The world is blinded by the devil’s devices. The Bible stated in 2 Corinthians 4:4In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them”.

God stepped out of eternity and into time to redeem man back to himself.  He suffered the cruel death on the cross so we can obtain eternal live.  Jesus clearly states in the scripture “that He willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance”.  He has paved the way for us to obtain eternal life, but we have to receive that which he has freely given unto us.  Jesus indicates in Matthew 16:24 “Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me”.  Salvation will cost us something, but that which it costs us, does not compare to what it costed our Lord Jesus Christ.

It is incumbent upon us to tell those who have not yet tasted of this free salvation, the importance of accepting Him as their savior.  It is also imperative that we remind them that the pleasures of sin are but for a season, but that which God provides will transcend throughout eternity.  Salvation is made possible because of the suffering of the sacrificial Lamb, Jesus Christ!  We are called to pull them out of the fire (Jude 1:23). As we await the imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ, let us live our lives on purpose.   God’s intended purpose for believers is to reach the lost at any cost.  The handwriting of God is on the wall, everywhere we look it points to Jesus’ return.  He is nigh at the door.  We can no longer take life for granted.  It is said that we should live everyday as those it is our last day.  The Bible indicates that tomorrow is not promise to anyone. Sometimes during the employment process, we are asked where we see ourselves in the next five years.  The bible states in Luke 16:8, “And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.  We cannot fail to take introspection as believers and as a congregation.  We need to ask ourselves and each other the hard questions that allow us to really examine ourselves to ensure that we are really in the faith. We also need to evaluate whether or not we are faithfully propagating the gospel of Jesus Christ.  At times, it is difficult to tell our loves one, neighbors, and co-workers that if they fail to accept Jesus Christ as Lord they will be lost throughout eternity.  We are told in the word of God that “the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life”.  We need to understand that He is not going to change His Word to please us.  We must adhere to His plan and principles to obtain eternal life.  Salvation is for whosoever will. There are those around us that believe that salvation is only for some and not others, but Jesus says salvation is for whosoever will.  Therefore, let us go into the highways and hedges and compel them so His house may be filled.  We as believers also need to remain steadfast as we await the Lord’s coming.  Jesus promised that He will pay every man according to his deeds.  So, let us labor therefore to enter into that rest.
