Grace and peace be multiplied unto you, from our great God and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.

From November 3-5, 2021, we will engage in another time of corporate fasting and prayer. Our theme is “Lord, Send More Laborers into the Vineyard”. Our theme scripture is found in Matthew 9:37-38, “Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.” Jesus did not come to condemn but to seek and save that which is lost. Matthew 9:12 says "But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." Similarly, says John 3:17 "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."

As disciples of Jesus Christ, our mission here on earth is the same, to preach to the lost that they might receive salvation. In Matthew 28:19-20 we were all given the great commission “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” In Mark 16:15 the Bible says, "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." As Jesus spoke a parable in Luke14:21-23, he says "So that servant came, and shewed his Lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind. And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room. And the Lord said unto the servant, Go out into  the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.”

God’s expectation of us regarding reaching for sinners is clear, Yet many of us neglect this great call to action by our Lord and savior Jesus Christ due to fear, indifference or entanglement with the cares of life. A failure to obey His commands will cause us to face His judgement just as the servant from the parable in Matthew 25 that buried his talent instead of making a profit. The master said in Matthew 25:30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

We must bear fruit for God. We must give Jesus a return on the investment He has made in us. We must make disciples. Let’s pray for those that diligently and faithfully labor that God would give them renewed strength. We will also pray that God would raise up more laborers in His vineyard to reap this great harvest before His imminent return.
